Assessment Criteria

This is a merit-based position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in your career, and the assessment of applicants will primarily be based on their scientific merits and potential as researchers. Special emphasis will be placed on scientific ability within the subject area.

When hiring a postdoctoral researcher, the following shall form the basis for assessment:

• You have a good ability to develop, plan, and conduct high-quality research, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and participation in competitive research projects.
• You have the ability to formulate research questions, apply appropriate experimental or analytical methods, and critically interpret scientific results.
• You possess pedagogical skills, demonstrated through experience in teaching, supervising students, or participating in undergraduate or advanced courses.

Other Merits:

• Knowledge and experience constituting merits:
  • It is advantageous if you have experience with biosensor technology, electrochemical analysis, or bioelectronic components.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience with surface chemistry, functional materials, or nanostructured systems for biomedical applications.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience with interdisciplinary research combining chemistry, materials science, and life sciences.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience working in externally funded research projects or international collaborations.
• Expertise/personal qualities constituting merits:
  • It is advantageous if you demonstrate a high degree of independence in planning and conducting research activities.
  • It is advantageous if you have a good ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary and international research teams.
  • It is advantageous if you have strong communication skills and can disseminate research results through presentations and publications.
• Education constituting merits:
  • It is advantageous if you have completed training or specialized courses in bioelectronics, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, or advanced materials characterization.
• Other forms of merits:
  • It is advantageous if you have experience with peer review for scientific journals or participation in conference organization.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience in science communication, innovation work, or public engagement.

Consideration will be given to how the applicant, through their experience and competence, is assessed to complement and strengthen the research within the department/institution and contribute to its future development.

Other Information

The position is fixed-term for 2 years and is full-time. The fixed-term appointment is made according to the collective agreement, “Agreement on Fixed-Term Employment as a Postdoctoral Researcher”.
