Welcome to us!

About the Unit

The Advice and Support Unit is a service provider within the social services in Knivsta, consisting of 18 employees and a unit manager. We work with support conversations, guidance, and treatment, ranging from general preventive measures to intensive home-based treatment. Our target group includes children, young people, parents, and entire families. We are also responsible for support and treatment for adults with substance abuse issues, relatives, as well as victims and perpetrators of violence. On the unit, we have a systemic-theoretical approach that permeates all parts of our work. We are a stable, well-educated, and experienced work group.

We are now looking for you who want to help develop our work with young people, both the preventive work in the Outreach Group and the therapeutic work as a family therapist. In this position, you will work 50% in the outreach activity and 50% with family therapy.

There are great opportunities on the unit to participate in developing new ways of working. Since the needs of our citizens are changing, we need to stay updated and seek areas for development, while preserving what works.

1 position(s).

Responsibilities

In the Outreach Group, you will be part of a team with colleagues from Advice and Support, Student Health Services, and Youth Activities. The assignment is to work preventively and relationally with the municipality's young people. The work takes place in schools, on youth centers, and in public spaces where young people are located. The main focus is to get a relevant picture of the living conditions of children and young people and to create trusting relationships with the target group to initiate various types of interventions from this. These interventions can take place at different levels - structural, group, and individual level, and can be examples such as class visits, girls'/boys' groups, theme meetings for guardians, night patrols, or worry conversations together with the police. Reaching young people who exhibit norm-breaking behavior early is of great importance for the group's way of working. If necessary, you guide the young person to other support that the school or social services have to offer, or to the Youth Clinic or First Line/Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP). Meetings with guardians may also occur, and the group should be able to receive calls from worried adults and also guide them to the right support. All work takes place in close collaboration between the police, social services, schools, and leisure activities.

As a family therapist, you will primarily work with young people or families with young people. The work may consist of youth coaching assignments, family therapy based on school absenteeism, as well as other family and youth therapeutic work. The tasks at Advice and Support are very varied, and the needs of those seeking support from us differ greatly. This requires great flexibility from the therapists. The tasks are performed both independently and together with colleagues at the unit.

Qualifications

  • Social Worker (Socialnom) or equivalent academic education
  • Experience working with children/young people and parents
  • Further education in relevant areas/methods, e.g., A-CRA, HAP/CPU, MI, Crime as a Lifestyle, Mental Illness/NPD
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Evening and weekend work occurs in the outreach activity.
