Do you want to make a difference in people's lives – every day?
Support and Care in Umeå Municipality is now expanding its operations with full-time support assistants for an exciting and developmental role in accompaniment services! Over the next two years, we have the opportunity to hire companions who primarily work with adults and children with disabilities.
We aim to be a resource in close proximity and interaction, freeing and strengthening people's ability to live an independent life. Now is your chance to help shape a new way of working together with dedicated colleagues.
About the role
As a companion, your main task is to provide support during activities outside the home – for example, sports, culture, walks, or other leisure activities. The work requires that you can handle a wheelchair or other aids that may be somewhat physically demanding.
You will be part of the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) authority and work closely with both colleagues and individuals. Since the position is new in the municipality, you will have the opportunity to develop working methods and routines – a role that is both stimulating and meaningful.
The number of hours of accompaniment each individual is entitled to is decided based on need – you will provide support to several people based on their wishes and life situations.
Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends.

Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience from healthcare, school, or disability care
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF diagnoses)

We warmly welcome your application!
