Personal Assistant for a Playful 9-Year-Old Boy

About the Job

I am now looking to expand my team with more available assistants! We are looking for you who want to work as an extra/temporary substitute during the summer, with a chance for a more permanent schedule in the autumn.

I am a playful boy who needs someone who wants to work in a varied manner, with opportunities for both daytime hours (at home and at school) and wake-night shifts with me. I have extensive functional disabilities and need help with many things, such as eating and mobility. My favorite song is "The Wheels on the Bus," and I enjoy listening to it all the time. Despite my age, I am younger in my development, and I am a kind boy who needs closeness. My assistants are considered part of the family, and it is important that we all get along so that it becomes as good as possible for everyone involved.

The Assignment

To work for me, you need to have some work experience. Experience with tube feeding and other work with people with disabilities is a plus. The person working with me will sometimes accompany me to school and, during certain shifts, stay awake with me at night. Sometimes I sleep, and sometimes I am awake.

My parents are always home, so even though there is a lot of responsibility involved with me, my parents are always available if anything arises. As a person, the one working with me needs to be perceptive, responsible, patient, and have a positive attitude.

We live 1.5 miles outside of Umeå, so having access to a car is preferred, but not a requirement as there are buses near the residence. There is a dog in the house, so if you are allergic, this job is not for you. We provide training until you feel confident in the workplace.
