The disability care services in Umeå Municipality aim to be a resource in close cooperation with individuals, freeing and strengthening people's ability to live an independent life.

Individuals under the age of 65 who have a disability and extensive needs for support and assistance can apply for personal assistance. A personal assistant helps someone with basic needs, such as eating, dressing, washing, and communicating. The assistance is individually tailored and is intended to provide increased opportunities for people with disabilities to live an independent life.

We are now looking for a personal assistant for a male user residing in Ersboda. If you want to work in a role that truly makes a difference, enjoy helping others, and creating meaningful days, this might be the right job for you!

Your responsibilities

You will support and help a man with his daily activities and routines. The work takes place primarily in the home but also in other places where the user is in their daily life. You contribute to creating structure and order by maintaining good routines.

The work includes, among other things, care, transfers, outdoor activities, and other common household chores. You work according to existing routines, are active in development areas that are implemented and planned. Additionally, some administrative tasks are included, such as documentation.

About you

As a personal assistant, you need to be attentive and empathetic, with the ability to focus on the user's needs. You are responsible, reliable, and enjoy creating safety and structure in everyday life. Flexibility and patience are important, as well as good collaboration skills and respectful treatment. The role often involves practical tasks, so attention to detail and a positive attitude towards helping where needed are valuable traits. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Experience in care and support work
• Fluent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

Merits

• Trained nursing assistant, care aide, or other healthcare education
• Experience working with palliative care

Lifting heavy loads occurs; transfer aids must be used.
