Do you want to work closely with young people and young adults in a role where early interventions, collaboration, and accessible support are the focus?

We are now looking for a social worker who wants to work as a counseling support in a combined role where you work both within the upper secondary school and at Youth Support in Skellefteå. Here you have the opportunity to meet young people and young adults at an early stage and contribute to them receiving the right support at the right time.

YOUR ROLE

In this role, you work preventively and supportively with young people and young adults. Approximately 15 percent of the position is based at the upper secondary school, and the remainder is at Youth Support's operations.

At the gymnasium, you are part of the student health service's preventive work and collaborate with school staff regarding students who need support in their daily lives. You contribute a social perspective and work together with the student health team to strengthen students' opportunities to do well and succeed in school.

At Youth Support, you offer supportive conversations to young people and young adults with different needs and life situations.

The young people seeking support may, for example, need help with:

• sleep and daily routines
• school-related challenges
• relationships and mental well-being
• motivation and future questions
• moving out of the home or finding structure in daily life
• internships, employment, or pathways further towards studies and work

A key part of the assignment is collaboration. You work closely with the upper secondary school's student health team and cooperate with, among others, schools, youth clinics, healthcare, and social services to create a cohesive support system around the young person.

You also contribute to information and educational initiatives and feel confident meeting groups in various contexts. The role gives you the opportunity to help develop preventive work for young people in Skellefteå. Some evening work may occur.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have a social work degree and a genuine commitment to young people's development and well-being.

You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good knowledge of English. You have basic digital competence, a B driver's license, and an extract from the criminal record is required for the position.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with young people or young adults, for example within social work, student health, or other support activities. We also view positively experience in supportive or motivational conversations, collaboration between different operations, and working with young people with different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

As a person, you are secure, sensitive, and have an easy time building trusting relationships. You work independently, take responsibility for planning your work, and collaborate without hierarchy with others to find solutions that benefit the young person. You are flexible and can meet people in different life situations with respect, clarity, and professional handling.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

In this position, you get a varied assignment where you combine work within the upper secondary school with support measures at Youth Support and become part of a context where collaboration and accessibility are central.

You become part of the preventive unit of individual and family care, where several operations work together to strengthen and support children, young people, and families. The role also involves close collaboration with the upper secondary school's student health team. The operations are characterized by collaboration, commitment, and a strong focus on early interventions. You are based from our premises on Hörnellgatan together with parts of the preventive unit.

Youth Support works closely with both the upper secondary school and other societal actors so that young people receive the right support at the right time. There is a great commitment here to creating accessible support and long-term sustainable solutions for the young people the operation meets.
