Lund University was founded in 1666 and is consistently ranked among the world's leading universities. We have approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö. We are united in our strive to understand, explain, and improve our world and the conditions of people.
Workplace Description
We are offering six positions as research assistants (amanuenser) in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science, LTH, Lund University, funded by the research project TASS – Trustworthy Agent-based Decision Support in Software Development.
Generative AI is transforming software development, and tool support driven by Large Language Models (LLMs) is already established in many engineers' workflows. The development is moving rapidly, and new variants of LLM-based tools capable of performing more sophisticated tasks without direct supervision are beginning to emerge. This development offers great opportunities, but also presents challenges. We need to shape these tools so that we gain insight into their decision-making processes and know to what extent we can trust this new wave of AI tools.
Within TASS, we explore how AI-based decision support in software development should be designed to provide reliable, high-quality assistance. The project is a collaboration between Axis Communications AB, Robert Bosch AB, and Lund University, with a focus on the design of agents within the continuous integration of software changes. In this context, we aim to investigate to what extent designs that incorporate elements to build trust and effectively utilize contextual information can contribute to reliable, high-quality decision support.
