Job Description

As a career advisor at ISLK, you support students in their process of deciding on their further education at upper secondary school. You are responsible for planning information sessions, individual/group guidance, and other activities that help students in their process. You work closely with the Vice Principal, MYP Coordinator, teachers, the Student Support Team, as well as the students and their parents, and Gymnasieantagningen (University and College Admissions Service) in the City of Lund. It is desirable that you have experience in career advising in an international context, guiding students from the IB MYP programme to IBDP, as well as towards Swedish upper secondary school programmes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Study and Career Guidance / Degree from the Career Guidance program.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Requirements

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attitudes and skills suitable for a cross-cultural environment.
• Professional, structured, and supportive approach when working with students, parents, school staff, and admissions services.
• Have faith in students' abilities and prioritize their best interests.
• Interest in arranging lessons and other activities that broaden students' knowledge about the labor market and different professions.
• Interest in adjusting and developing career guidance at ISLK to fit the specific needs of the operation.
• Keep yourself updated on education and the labor market.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in the working language, English.

The application must be written in English to be considered.

The position may start with a probation period of 6 months. After the agreed period, the position will be converted into a permanent position, if agreed by both parties.

We will work with a continuous selection process in recruitment, and interviews may be conducted before the application period has expired.

To work with children or students in a preschool or school setting, you need to be able to present a verifiable extract from the criminal record database.

About Us

ISLK - International School of Lund is an IB World School authorized to teach the IB Early Years Programme, Primary Years Programme, and the Middle Years Programme. The school works in close collaboration with Katedralskolan where the IB Diploma Programme is offered. ISLK is a growing school and has approximately 400 students at the moment.
