Do you have a strong interest in hardware and computers, and are you ready to take your next step in IT? Do you have a technical mindset and want to become part of a forward-thinking global company shaping the future society? We are currently looking for a driven IT Technician for an exciting installation hub in Liljeholmen. Here you will have the chance to learn everything about case management systems, modern deployment, and user support in a supportive environment!
About the role
Our client is one of Sweden's largest and most successful consulting firms within societal development and engineering. With over 80,000 employees globally and a leading position on the Swedish market, they work on some of the country's largest infrastructure projects (including the Stockholm Bypass).
The company has recently moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art office in one of Liljeholmen's most attractive areas. This office serves as the base and home for over 1,000 employees whose daily IT operations must run flawlessly. The company's engineers and field workers use extremely powerful computers with advanced CAD and simulation tools, and the company is currently facing a major challenge as a huge backlog of computers needs to be updated and rolled out.
Therefore, we are now looking for an addition to their IT team, where you will be based out of the new office together with two close and helpful colleagues. Here you will become an important face of the office's Tech Bar, but the role also involves moving around the large office to troubleshoot various technical equipment on-site based on incoming tickets.
This is the perfect bridge for you who are at the beginning of your IT career and want to learn more. You will receive a solid start and introduction, have experienced mentors by your side, and learn systems like Intune and ServiceNow from the ground up.
What we offer:
- A unique opportunity to build your CV with a top-ranked and well-known global company.
- A supportive and flat-hierarchy team culture where knowledge is shared.
- A springboard for further advancement in the IT industry with good chances for extension or other internal roles within the IT department.
Responsibilities
In the role of IT Technician, your primary focus will be handling the backlog of computers to be deployed into the business, but you will also get to try out support-related tasks. You will work in a so-called "installation hub" and may be called upon to assist in the company's Tech Bar.
- Identify old computers according to internal registers and plan for replacement.
- Install, configure, and customize new Windows computers via Intune.
- Install basic software as well as advanced engineering programs (e.g., CAD).
- Ensure delivery and return of IT equipment.
- You will have the opportunity to assist in support, where you will handle support cases and tickets in the case management system ServiceNow.
- The possibility to jump in and help physically in the company's Tech Bar and support internal users.
We are looking for you who
We are looking for someone who is technically proficient and has a genuine interest in computers and hardware. The most important things are your attitude, your willingness to learn, and your service-mindedness.
- Have completed upper secondary education, preferably with a technical or IT focus.
- Experience in installing and configuring Windows computers.
- Have a broad general interest in technology and a good understanding of how computers work.
- Speak and write fluently in Swedish and English as you support both local and global users.
It is meritorious if you have
- Knowledge of Intune and experience with case management systems.
- Previous experience in support, service, or similar roles.
- A valid driver's license (Category B).
To succeed in the role, you have the following personal qualities:
- Helpful and service-oriented: You are motivated by providing good support and solving problems for users.
- Proactive and structured: Since the team has a large backlog, you thrive when rolling up your sleeves and methodically working through action lists.
- Flat-hierarchy team player: You are easy to get along with and thrive in a team with mixed, lovely personalities where everyone helps each other out.
Our recruitment process
This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and our client's request is that all questions regarding the position are sent to Academic Work.
We apply continuous selection and will remove the ad when enough candidates have reached the final stage of the recruitment process. A CV is required when applying. We do not use cover letters as a selection method, so one is not needed. The recruitment process includes two selection tests: a personality test and a cognitive ability test. The tests are a tool to find the candidate with the highest potential for the position and to promote equality, diversity, and a fair recruitment process.
