The role of Support Assistant with us

When you work at the group home in Apotekarängen, you become part of a team whose daily task is to provide support in everyday life, such as motivational conversations, help with practical chores, or assistance with various leisure activities both inside and outside the home. You contribute to the experience of safety and inclusion through a listening, flexible, and professional approach. Your work includes, among other things, being a contact person, creating individual implementation plans, and maintaining social documentation. We work based on a low-arousal approach, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), and Clear Communication pedagogy.

Your profile

As a person, you are accommodating in your interactions and attentive to your surroundings. You create new contacts as well as maintain your current work relationships. You take responsibility and drive your work forward, deliver results, and prioritize your work effectively. You see opportunities in changes, take initiative, and propose new approaches to work-related issues. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• education relevant to the target group
• work experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
• work experience with low-arousal approaches
• work experience with the target group

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience with documentation and method work
• experience with the Medvind system
• experience using patient lifts, feeding tubes, catheter flushing, and PEP/Bilevel devices
• are a trained nursing assistant

We are centrally located at Signeshus, within walking distance to the station and Kungsmässan (the fairgrounds), and there are also bus connections just outside.

At Apotekarängen, we constantly develop our work together with the tenants to create a wonderful community and a home for all residents. We continuously work to maintain the abilities that the tenants have and highly value their own opinions. At Apotekarängen, there are eight apartments for people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism-like disabilities. The work involves providing our tenants with support in all aspects of daily life.

Our offer and other information

We offer permanent full-time positions starting as agreed. You will work days, evenings, and every other weekend.

Within the Department of Individual & Family Care, all employees within Housing with Special Service and Home Support are employed full-time but have the opportunity to reduce their working hours to the desired level based on the needs of the operations.
