Job Description
As a native language teacher and study counselor, you are employed centrally in the municipality within the School Integration unit, which serves the entire municipality with native language instruction and study counseling/language support in the native language from primary school grade 1 to upper secondary school. Currently, approximately 50 teachers/study counselors work in the unit, covering more than 36 different languages. In the role of a native language teacher, you plan, implement, document, and assess based on the goals of the curriculum. The teaching may be located at several schools, and distance learning may be relevant for some groups. Study counseling/language support takes place at the municipality's various primary schools. It can be organized in different ways, such as study counseling before, during, or after lessons. The assignment requires collaboration with principals and staff at the schools. Study counseling/language support is usually given during the day during lesson time, while native language instruction takes place outside of the time-regulated schedule, usually after regular school hours. You participate in the unit's joint development work and have a base school where you are part of their joint development work, as far as possible.
Requirements for the position:
- Teacher certification for native language, Sorani, or alternatively a pedagogical education with broad competence.
- You must have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in the native language you teach and in Swedish.
Qualifications for the position:
- You are well acquainted with LGR22 (The Swedish School Curriculum for Compulsory School, Preschool Class and Freestanding School).
Personal qualities:
As a study counselor/language supporter, you should have good insight into the Swedish school system and possess strong subject knowledge. You are flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions and are well acquainted with digital tools. We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has good self-awareness in their professional role. You have the ability to build good relationships and communicate well with students, guardians, and other staff. As a person, you can inspire and engage students and meet them based on their individual prerequisites and knowledge level. We offer you an environment where language-developing teaching is a prerequisite and where collegial learning is central. You have the competence to teach both on-site with all students in the classroom and via digital media through distance learning, which requires a good ability to structure work and good initiative. You have good ability for analysis and reflection and constantly develop your teaching. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
