About the Department of Work and Welfare

The Department of Work and Welfare consists of Individual and Family Care, Support, Service and Housing, as well as Education, Social Security, and Prevention. In total, we have approximately 300 employees who work salutogenically and solution-oriented, with a knowledge base in methods grounded in science.

Our mission is to help and support individuals with social problems and/or disabilities, to work preventively and promotively to counteract exclusion and social problems, and through studies or employment, to find a path into working life towards self-sufficiency. From a children's rights perspective, we help, support, and protect children and young people so they can live and develop in good and secure conditions.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who work consciously to create a good learning environment that is challenging, stimulating, and awakens students' curiosity and desire to learn. The position includes teaching within ventilation and possibly industry within adult education. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on students' different prerequisites and needs, and work with evaluation, assessment, and grading according to current governing documents.

The work also includes preparation for, supervision of, and follow-up of APL (Work-Integrated Learning) according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines. You actively participate in the school's quality work and contribute together with colleagues to develop the operations and create a learning organization. Through a reflective and creative working method, you strive for high quality in teaching and a good learning and working environment for both students and staff.

Start date: By agreement. Fixed-term employment for one year with the possibility of permanent employment if necessary decisions are made. This is a vacation replacement position.

Qualifications and Merits

We are primarily looking for you who are trained as a vocational teacher and have a certificate or professional proof as a ventilation installer or ventilation sheet metal worker. You have several years of experience from the HVAC industry and good knowledge of the school's governing documents as well as the ability to apply them in daily work. Knowledge in welding and soldering is meritorious.

You have good digital competence and are accustomed to using digital tools and learning platforms in teaching. We would appreciate if you have experience of adult education or work with adult learning, as well as experience of meeting students with varying support needs. You have a good ability to arouse interest in the subject, develop students' knowledge, and adapt teaching to the individual's needs. You express yourself well in speech and writing and are a sensitive person who can create calm and security in the work with students.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Employment Type and Conditions

• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer.

According to the School Act (2010:800), you must be able to show an extract from the criminal record register when offered employment.
