The Role
Do you want a varied, developmental, and meaningful job where you make a real difference for people in different life situations? We are now looking for two social secretaries for a combined position within Joint Reception and Social Emergency Services Kronoberg. At Joint Reception and Social Emergency Services Kronoberg, we work based on a common vision: a social services system where the individual is at the center and where support is experienced as coordinated, legally secure, and easily accessible.
We see people's strengths and resources while being clear about our authority mandate. With us, you become an important part of a competent and engaged team that together creates security and quality for those we meet.
The position combines work in two important operations:
Joint Reception
Here you receive applications and reports to the social services in Växjö Municipality and meet residents with different needs for support. The operation works cross-functionally with both children and adults and focuses on accessibility, coordination, and professional treatment.
Social Emergency Services Kronoberg
Here you work for the eight municipalities in Kronoberg County and are responsible for acute social interventions outside regular office hours. Working hours are primarily scheduled for evenings, nights, and weekends, with both active duty and on-call standby.
Together, the operations create a whole where you get to work broadly, develop professionally, and contribute to a more cohesive social services system.
Responsibilities
As a social secretary in this combined position, you work with both reception work and acute interventions. The tasks include among other things:
- Receive incoming applications and reports
- Give advice, support, and guidance to residents and partners
- Conduct protection assessments and preliminary assessments
- Make decisions on whether to initiate or not initiate an investigation
- Handle acute situations related to children, adults, and families
- Collaborate with police, healthcare, psychiatry, and other actors
- Process cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act on Special Provisions on Care of Young Persons (LVU), the Act for Care of Abusers of Spirits or Intoxicants (LVM), and other relevant legislation
Working hours are primarily during the day, with the largest part of the position being in joint reception and one weekend every six weeks with duty in the social emergency service.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- A degree in Social Work or education assessed as equivalent by the employer.
- At least one year of experience in authority exercises within social services.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
- Good knowledge of current legislation.
- Good command of Swedish in speech and writing.
Merits:
- Experience in reception work.
- Experience in social emergency services or social standby.
- Authority exercises within child and family services.
We are looking for someone who is confident in making decisions and has a good ability to meet people in vulnerable and crisis-filled situations. You are flexible and thrive in a job with varying pace and are a natural team player.
Employment Terms
Type of Employment: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent.
The employees of Växjö Municipality should reflect the diversity found in the municipality. We welcome applicants regardless of age, gender, and ethnicity.
As a permanent employee, you will generally be war-placed in our organization.
