Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for an engaged care assistant with a heart for care!

Our group home at Birkagatan 24 B consists of five apartments and a satellite apartment connected to the operations. There are common areas and staff rooms, and the residence is located in Öster, Växjö.

The operations run 24/7, where care recipients, in their home environment, always have staff nearby providing individually adapted service. The purpose of the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) group home initiative is to promote equality in living conditions and participation in social life for the people covered by the law. The goal is for the individual to have the opportunity to live like others. In daily work, this means we work based on the individual's implementation plan to support the care recipient in all the moments needed for daily life to function.

We work with a preventive and low-affective approach, where collaboration and a shared value base within the staff group are crucial. Through a pedagogical working method supported by Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), we create a calm, safe, and predictable daily life where each care recipient receives support based on their individual needs.

As a care assistant, you are an important part of the care recipients' daily lives. You contribute to creating structure, security, and quality of life by:

  • Supporting in daily chores such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
  • Participating in and encouraging leisure activities and social gatherings
  • Working pedagogically and individually adapted based on each care recipient's needs
  • Contributing to a safe, calm, and home-like environment

Here, you will work closely with our care recipients in an environment that promotes independence and development.

At Birkagatan 24B, working hours are scheduled for day, evening, night, and weekends. Joint planning with other workplaces may occur.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must have:

  • Approved education from the Care and Nursing program, Child and Youth program, Nurse education with supplementary courses, Caretaker education, or Childcare education of at least two years
  • Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent, such as behavioral science or pedagogical education of at least 120 credits

Additionally, you have:

  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
  • Mastery of the Swedish language in both speech and writing and experience with documentation
  • A genuine commitment to the target group
  • Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration and good communication
  • A professional, attentive, and secure approach

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working in similar operations
  • Knowledge of or experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

To be eligible for employment, you must also:

  • Present an extract from the police criminal record to verify your own entries in the criminal record/individual (442.3) according to Section 9, Paragraph 1. Orders for extracts from the criminal record can be placed at polisen.se (https://polisen.se/tjanster-tillstand/belastningsregistret/)

We welcome your application today; interviews are conducted continuously!
