Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues.

SiS Youth Home Eknäs receives school-age boys aged 12–16 with psychosocial problems, as well as those involved in crime and substance abuse. Job Description

Are you motivated by helping young people and clients in vulnerable life situations? Do you also enjoy organizing, leading, and planning? Apply for the Group Leader position at SiS! As a Group Leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children and young people/clients as well as staff. In this role, you work actively in the operational care and treatment work on the ward. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing the daily work. You act as a role model and promote that the work is conducted in a legally secure manner and in accordance with current guidelines, methods, and set goals. You keep the unit manager of your ward updated on issues that may affect the work environment, care and treatment environment, or deficiencies in the operations. Introduction and supervision of new employees are also part of your work. You are part of a team with the unit manager and treatment secretary, and you will have close cooperation to create good results together.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role of Group Leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. The operational work and the meeting with young people/clients are your main focus. You are good at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively and are clear in your communication with others. At the same time, you are attentive and affirming in your approach to young people/clients and staff, and you are good at building relationships. You have a professional attitude and a good ability to collaborate and put yourself in others' perspectives. The work is sometimes challenging and requires that you are stable and maintain your composure even in stressful situations.

You must also have:

  • A relevant university degree focused on social sciences, care, or behavioral sciences, or other education, at least a 2-year post-secondary education combined with work experience that SiS considers equivalent.
  • Several years of meritorious work experience from work within SiS or other operations focusing on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant operations.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and orally.

In order for a Group Leader to be appointed as acting unit manager and/or included in the management reserve, they must have a university education of at least 180 higher education credits focused on social sciences, care, or behavioral sciences.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
