Jönköping Municipality is a major employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing alongside the municipality's development, with more residents, more housing, and a wider range of services. We are always looking for new skills – colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and call home.
At Bäckadal Upper Secondary School, you will become part of a creative and learning organization where we work together to move forward. Here, you will have the most important job one can have: developing students' self-confidence and preparing them for life and the future.
Your new job
You will teach students on various national vocational programs in Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level, as well as students on introductory programs in Swedish as a Second Language at the lower secondary level.
Like other teachers at Bäckadal Upper Secondary School, you will work closely with students and guardians through mentorship. As a teacher, you are expected to have digital competence, as communication with students and guardians takes place in the learning platform Vklass. You will be part of a team of teachers who, together with the Student Health Team (SHT), regularly collaborate regarding the students' needs.
You will become an important part of Bäckadal Upper Secondary School as a whole, collaborating with students, guardians, teachers, school leadership, and other school staff in the school's development work.
Welcome to us
At Bäckadal Upper Secondary School, we offer you the opportunity to meet and teach our wonderful students daily. We help each other, listen to one another, and work towards the same goals. Our shared direction, Learning Joy All the Way, guides our priorities and way of working.
Your qualifications
We are looking for you who have a teaching license and the eligibility to teach Swedish as a Second Language for grades 7–9 and at the upper secondary level. You have a strong interest in working with language and knowledge development in your teaching.
If you have previous experience working with newly arrived students, we would love to hear more about it, so don't forget to mention this in your application!
As a person, you are social, solution-focused, and flexible. You take initiative in your work and find it easy to collaborate and share responsibility for the operations. We highly value your ability to interest, inspire, and motivate, as well as your ability to build and maintain good relationships with upper secondary school students. You need to have good communication skills and a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and their different prerequisites for this. You have an interest in contributing to the development of the pedagogical activities with a focus on teaching and student learning.
