Support Assistant for Short-Term Care for Children and Young People in Lerum

About the Position

We are looking for a Support Assistant for our short-term care facility for children and young people located in Gråbo, Lerum Municipality. In September 2026, we will move to our newly built short-term care facility in Floda.

Responsibilities

As a Support Assistant, you work with the user during their stay at the short-term care facility by creating a comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful existence, and by working preventively and systematically.

In your role as a Support Assistant, you are responsible for drawing up, implementing, and following up on routines, action plans, implementation plans, and activity descriptions with the support of a support pedagogue.

You encourage and work towards good collaboration with other people around the individual, such as guardians, social secretaries, schools, etc.

You will work on a schedule, which implies daytime, evening, sleeping on-call duty, and work every other weekend.

It may occur that you, if necessary, perform work within the facility's other units.

Qualifications

For the position of Support Assistant, you are required to have a degree from a Support Assistant program, the Care and Nursing program, or the Child and Youth program. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary education in the field of disability that comprises at least 200 higher education credits, alternatively 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities.

Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you can and are comfortable expressing yourself orally and in writing in Swedish.

Experience and knowledge of working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and Low-Affective Approach are meritorious.

Experience working as a Support Assistant in a similar facility is meritorious.

Excursions by car or minibus occur, and therefore a manual driver's license is a requirement.

Before an offer of employment, an extract from the Police Authority's criminal record must be presented.
