Job Description

As a social pedagogue, you will actively work on preventive and value-based promotion together with the student health team and the safety team. You will work both independently and in collaboration with others, with a special focus on students' social development, safety, and well-being. You will support other staff members in social issues and safety work.

You have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You create trust and safety among our students and spark their motivation for learning. You achieve this through a solution-focused approach, much positive reinforcement, and praise. You show that you care about them and that you are there for them as a secure adult who stands by and supports them in big and small matters.

The personal qualities that are crucial for success in the role of a social pedagogue are that you are responsible and secure, and passionate about creating a safe school. A certain degree of courage and personal maturity is required to successfully lead discussions on difficult issues with students and their guardians. It is important to be able to act professionally and patiently even in very difficult and pressured situations.

Responsibilities

You will handle urgent cases in the operation, investigate bullying/harassment incidents, be present on the playgrounds among the students, initiate recess activities, provide supportive conversations with students, observe groups or individual students, and handle student cases together with the student health team.

As a social pedagogue, you work closely with students, guardians, and staff. You will work to increase student attendance and will be part of the school social team together with a school social worker. You will conduct motivational interviews, support the creation of structure for the school day, and investigate problematic school absenteeism.

Most of the day will be spent where the students are, both in teaching situations and during recess, with the goal of creating safety, building trusting relationships, and strengthening students' development and learning.

The assignment includes initiating recess activities, collaborating with teachers, student health services, and school management, and as needed, supporting individual student cases and contact with guardians.

Qualifications

Degree in social pedagogy or similar. We prefer that you have previous experience working with young people in a school environment. You need to have a good ability to lead discussions on difficult issues with teachers, students, and their guardians. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
