Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium (VBU) is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. With approximately 250 employees, 1,800 students, and a turnover of around 225 million SEK, we operate in Ludvika, Smedjebacken, and Grängesberg. We are now looking for you who are interested in joining us to work with our young people at the adapted upper secondary school. At VBU, there are two classes, and your task will be to contribute, together with the responsible teacher, to ensuring that the students receive a good education. Our students follow the individual program and therefore study subject areas.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide support for the students' various needs related to the school's responsibilities.
- Assist in adapting teaching based on individual students' needs.
- Work to stimulate students' development and learning.
- Stretching and care tasks are also part of the job.
Qualifications
You have relevant experience for the position and an education at least at the upper secondary level, preferably with a focus on children and young people. You must demonstrate a strong ability to drive things forward, be self-reliant, and take initiative based on what is required in the moment, in order to best support the teacher and guide the student. It is important that you are confident in yourself so that you can handle different students' personalities and expressions. You are flexible, can adapt your actions to the situation and different needs that arise, and can collaborate with colleagues, students, and guardians.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. We also hope that you have a willingness to learn what is needed.
Merits
- Experience working with children/young people with intellectual disabilities (ID).
- Experience working in a school setting with its mission.
- Knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
- Category B driver's license.
About the Employment Terms
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting as agreed. We may apply a probationary period of up to 6 months and require a certificate of good conduct upon employment.
