Do you want to make a real difference in people's daily lives while contributing to the development of Halmstad Municipality's support for individuals within the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments)? Here, you will become a key person in an environment where quality, security, and participation are at the center. You will have the opportunity to use your pedagogical competence to strengthen individuals' self-determination, well-being, and opportunities in both daily life and working life.
Your responsibilities
As a support pedagogue, you will provide individually adapted support in the residents' home environments, together with the work team. The work is based on a pedagogical and salutogenic approach, focusing on development opportunities, participation, and clear structure. You have a specific task to support users in finding strategies to handle daily life, professional life, and various social contexts.
In the operations, you are driving the pedagogical work and mentoring colleagues in planning, follow-up, documentation, and goal achievement, with a focus on good treatment and low-affective work methods. As core staff, you also play an important role in quality development and participate in developing communicative methods, routines, and a common approach. The work is varied: from pedagogical support in daily life, networking, documentation, and evaluation to practical tasks in the home such as laundry, cooking, and cleaning.
In your role, you will:
- Actively drive the process regarding documentation, training, and methods.
- Be responsible, together with contact staff, for conducting network meetings and for establishing and following up on implementation plans.
- Participate in networks with other support pedagogues and the method supporter.
- Participate in the daily work in the operations.
Working hours include days, evenings, on-call duty, and weekends.
Your qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we are looking for you who take initiative when needed and contribute energy that drives the work forward. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and are a person who listens, builds on ideas, and helps the group reach common goals.
You handle changing situations easily and maintain focus even when the pace changes. At the same time, you create structure in your work, plan predictably, and follow up so that efforts lead towards the organization's goals. In addition, we value teamwork, creativity, and sensitivity. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements
- Completed vocational higher education (YH) as a support pedagogue or another complete post-secondary education in pedagogy or behavioral science, combined with relevant professional experience.
- Category B driver's license and access to a car.
- Experience working with individuals within LSS and challenging behavior.
- Very good communicative skills and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Experience with documentation and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of how to establish and follow up on implementation plans, as well as experience working in LifeCare.
Meritorious
- Experience working as a support pedagogue within LSS with target groups with various functional variations such as autism, intellectual disability, and challenging behaviors, as well as experience working with younger onset dementia.
What we offer you
Here, you will have a meaningful assignment where your work makes a real difference in people's lives. You will contribute to creating greater independence, security, and opportunities for the people we support. You will become part of an engaged work team that helps each other, shares experiences, and develops together. As a support pedagogue, you will also participate in regular network meetings and have close collaboration with method supporters.
We offer induction and ongoing competence development in pedagogy, communication, and low-affective treatment. You will receive a wellness allowance and work in an organization that applies smoke-free working hours. We also offer good opportunities to influence methods, routines, and quality work - we encourage own initiatives, reflection, and learning in everyday life.
The interviews are scheduled for the mornings of June 22 and 23.
