About Us

Granbackaskolan is a lower primary school with age-homogeneous classes from preschool class to year 3. We strive daily to give the school's 300 students important tools in the form of self-confidence, social competence, and critical thinking. We see safety as a natural prerequisite for school success.

There is close cooperation at the school between teachers, after-school care, the student welfare team, and school management. The special needs teacher is an important part of this work and contributes both to direct support for students and to the development of teaching.

What does the job involve?

The assignment includes both promoting, preventive, and remedial measures and takes place in close collaboration with school management, teachers, the student welfare team, and guardians.

Your duties include:

• conducting mapping, pedagogical investigations, and contributing to action plans
• planning and conducting teaching in smaller groups or individually based on students' needs
• following up and analyzing results and contributing to the implementation of appropriate support measures
• supervising and supporting teachers in working with students' knowledge development
• participating in the student welfare team's work and contributing with analyses and proposals for measures
• collaborating with guardians and the school's various professions
• contributing to the school's development work and putting research into practice.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who:

• are trained as a special needs teacher or special educator
• have experience in special educational work
• have knowledge of assessing students' language, reading, and writing development
• have very good Swedish speaking, reading, and writing skills.

We consider it an advantage if you are trained as a special needs teacher with a focus on reading and writing development.

We are looking for you who have a good ability to analyze students' needs and to translate that knowledge into teaching and support measures. You are confident in working with pedagogical investigations, extra adaptations, and special support. You are development-oriented and want to contribute to the school's quality work.

You work in a structured way and document your activities in a systematic manner. You have good collaboration skills and contribute to a professional working climate; you are a clear and responsive supervisor in cooperation with colleagues.
