The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug abuse. We receive men with mental illness and men with acting-out behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a Treatment Assistant at SiS.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you ensure that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our clients, and provide the basis for daily life such as cleaning, cooking, etc. You contribute to maintaining security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our clients receive the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Working hours are according to schedule: day, evening, weekend, and night.
As a summer temporary worker at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You must have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care
- B driver's license
- Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing
Merits:
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or the Swedish Migration Agency
- Experience in care and nursing
- Experience working with our target group, e.g., addiction care, youth care, etc.

Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and a capacity to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, you who work full-time as a monthly employed summer temporary worker for more than four weeks receive a bonus. Employment
Introduction will take place before start, where both theoretical and practical information is provided. Opportunities for introduction and extra work exist during the spring, as well as the possibility to continue on a fixed-term employment during the autumn.
