About the workplace

At Ersbodakyrkan, our guiding principles are bridge-building and enabling. Your closest colleagues at Ersbodakyrkan will be the housekeeper, caretaker, priest, musician, deacon, deaconess assistants, and pedagogues. Here you will find broad competence and great commitment.

The Church of Sweden in Umeå consists of six parishes, with Ersbodakyrkan being part of Umeå City Parish, one of the largest parishes in northern Sweden. The parishes collaborate within the Umeå Pastorate, which also features a shared office with property and cemetery management, administration, HR functions, a communications unit, and a deaconry center.

About the job

The position includes, among other things:

• Church services and liturgical duties
• Work with confirmation candidates
• Work with children, youth, and families
• Teaching directed at various age groups
• Devotions and visits to nursing homes and special housing facilities
• Spiritual care

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Is ordained as a priest according to the Church of Sweden's order
• Has a Master's degree in theology or another education that the employer deems equivalent
• Has education in spiritual care, philosophy, and/or ethics
• Has a valid B-class driver's license
• Is a member of the Church of Sweden and shares the Church of Sweden's faith and values
• Has good knowledge of Swedish and English

We consider it an advantage if you have experience in parish work, preferably in a multicultural church.

The parish strives for a purpose-driven and trust-based working method, which suits you if you are flexible, responsible, and accustomed to planning, prioritizing, reflecting on, and following up on work efforts in close dialogue with colleagues. You have a diaconal approach, are receptive, and see opportunities in collaboration and network building with other actors in society. You function well both in teams and in independent work.

We see preaching and worship life as important parts of your role. We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and has a longing to create more meeting places between God and people.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Terms and benefits

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date as agreed. Work on evenings and weekends occurs regularly.
