If you want to become a teacher, you have a unique opportunity to combine your studies with work. You can do this thanks to the work-integrated teacher education at Dalarna University. By combining education with work, you simultaneously gain professional experience in the field.

By studying and working simultaneously, you have the opportunity to finance your teacher education without needing to take out loans. The university studies have a pace of 75%, and you work 50%.

The program is aimed at those who work or wish to work as teachers in grades 4–6 of primary school. The education leads to a Bachelor of Education degree and eligibility to teach Swedish, mathematics, and English, as well as Natural Sciences and Technology or Social Studies.

Throughout the entire study period, you will have a parallel teaching position in Mora Municipality, with supervision from experienced teachers.

Mora Municipality's requirements for applicants

To be admitted to this combination of work and education, you must meet the requirements for both employment and studies, namely:

• Be admitted to the Bachelor of Education program (240 credits) at Dalarna University.
• Have personal leadership skills assessed as suitable for the role of a teacher.
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language and the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Have good ability to work individually and in groups.
• Have good ability to handle challenges in a positive and solution-focused manner.
• Have the ability to reflect on your own learning and personal teaching style.

The application is divided into two parts: application to the Bachelor of Education program at Dalarna University and application for the teaching position in Mora Municipality.
