Your new job

We are looking for you who, together with the work team at Dalen's Resource Unit, want to make a difference for our students. The work involves adapting teaching for each student based on their individual needs, as well as supporting students in their social development. The work is active, inspiring, and relationship-building. Working as a teacher at Dalen's Resource Unit involves many contacts with the home school's teachers, student health services, and principal, as well as with guardians, social services, and healthcare. All to create the best possible learning environment for the students.

The School Support Unit comprises four municipal special education groups, so-called resource units, as well as school support guidance that supports schools at the group and organizational levels. Within the unit, 29 employees work.

Dalen is one of our four resource units, and these are where students who need the most support are placed. The placement is time-limited for the student and decided by the home school's principal. The purpose of the placement is for the student to have a better functioning school attendance through various measures and adaptations, with the goal of returning to the home school as soon as possible. Currently, five staff members work at Dalen's Resource Unit: three primary school teachers and two leisure-time center teachers. The unit has space for 6–8 students in grades 4–9.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher with broad subject competence and experience in assessment and grading. We would appreciate it if you have special educational needs competence and experience in successfully working with students in need of special support and mental health issues. It is also desirable if you have worked at different stages within primary school.

As a person, you are solution-focused and relationship-oriented with good communication skills. Since part of the activity takes place outdoors in nature and in the wider community, you need to use your creativity in teaching. You thrive in an environment that places high demands on understanding and diversity. You have patience, good teamwork skills, and an understanding of the entire assignment. You have a good ability to create structure in your work and take responsibility for your tasks.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You have a B-category driver's license as the position involves parts of the activity taking place outside the resource unit's premises using the unit's minibus.

Good to know

The position is a full-time temporary assignment with a start date from 2026-11-02 or by agreement until 2027-06-30, with a possible extension.

From March 1, 2026, extended register checks were introduced for persons who are to work with children. This means you will need to submit an additional extract prior to employment.
