Finspång School of Music and Arts is a creative, forward-thinking activity that meets children in music, theatre, visual arts and design, and film. We have a well-developed choir and orchestra activity and a strong collaboration with schools.

We want to be a meeting place where children's and young people's cultural expression develops and gets to be seen and take a place in the municipality's cultural life. Therefore, the stage activity is a natural part of the students' education.

We work strategically with school development through student participation and investigative activities. Here we challenge our attitudes and working methods to constantly develop meaning-making activities. The School of Music and Arts' teachers work in different groups, work teams, and contexts, both subject-specific, trans-artistic, and in various collaborations with activities outside the School of Music and Arts. Working hours vary between day, evening, and occasionally weekends, for example during performances.

The School of Music and Arts' work is the hub of the municipality's cultural guarantee, which is an administrative cross-cutting collaboration where all children aged 3–16 receive professional cultural experiences and activities with their own creation every year.

Your future tasks

Working as a percussion teacher at the School of Music and Arts means that you teach children and young people in drum kit, percussion, and often lead ensembles for children aged 6–19. You will work with group and individual teaching at all levels. Teaching experience is desired as you will lead an ensemble and be part of a cross-functional cultural team. We see it as a given to give children and young people experience and community through music together, so you appreciate collaborating with other teachers and creating music groups where different instruments are included.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a music teacher education in music and percussion as a main instrument, or an artistic musician education at university level with pedagogical supplementary education. The role requires you to be self-reliant and responsible. A driver's license is a prerequisite for the position. We see technical knowledge and the ability to set up PA systems as desired skills.
