Gislaved Music School is looking for a violin teacher

The Music School in Gislaved is a well-established and appreciated activity within the municipality. We have approximately 550 students of various ages and offer children and young people the opportunity to play an instrument and sing. At the Music School, 23 dedicated educators work, of which the string team consists of 6 educators. The Music School has a close collaboration with the primary school, partly through companion teaching in year 2 and partly through various music projects. We also collaborate with Gislaved Upper Secondary School, where the Music School's teachers teach in the music specialization of the aesthetic program. We have an extensive ensemble and concert activity with access to well-equipped teaching rooms, a music studio, orchestra, and concert halls. The municipality has a rich musical and choral life with orchestras such as the Gislaved Symphony Orchestra, Gislaved Big Band, and Gislaved Westbo Musikkår.

Job Responsibilities

Teaching in violin and ensemble. The Music School has five string orchestras, and it is part of the role to lead one of them. There is an opportunity to play in the Gislaved Symphony Orchestra.

Qualifications

University College of Music or equivalent education. Education and/or experience of Suzuki teaching is meritorious for the position. Driver's license and access to a private car.

We will arrange a violin audition and a teaching trial in connection with the interview.
