Do you want to make a difference for people with harmful substance use or addiction while being part of a team that supports both clients and each other? At Adult Outpatient Care, we offer support and treatment to individuals with harmful use or addiction to alcohol, drugs, and gambling, as well as their relatives and networks.

Here, you will meet people at various stages of change and become part of an organization where relationships, participation, and belief in people's own abilities are at the center. We work solution-focused and base our approach on the client's goals and life situation. We are now looking for an Adult Therapist/Treatment Assistant who wants to contribute with commitment, knowledge, and new perspectives to our continued work.

YOUR ROLE

As an Adult Therapist, you work with support and treatment interventions for individuals with harmful use or addiction and their relatives. The work consists of individual conversations, family sessions, group activities, and close collaboration with colleagues and other actors around the client.

You meet people with different needs and life situations and work to create motivation, hope, and sustainable change based on each person's own goals. The role also includes counseling, information, and educational efforts for both the general public and partners.

You will become an important part of the organization's development work and are expected to actively contribute to developing methods and approaches. The work also involves collaboration with units within Individual and Family Care.

Your permanent position is located at the Adult Outpatient Care unit, and you will initially have your workplace at Stationsgatan 21 in central Skellefteå. Depending on how needs develop, there may be opportunities to work in other parts of the unit's operations in the future.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for you who have experience in counseling work and preferably experience working in the field of harmful use or addiction. You have a university degree relevant to the assignment, such as social worker, psychologist, or behavioral scientist, or alternatively at least one year of post-secondary education with a focus on, for example, psychiatry, behavioral science, or social work, such as a VET (YH) education, which is considered suitable for the assignment.

You are relationship-building and have an easy time making contact and building trust with both clients, relatives, and partners. At the same time, you are sensitive and considerate, with a good ability to put yourself in other people's situations and treat them with respect and understanding. You take initiative, plan, and follow up on your work and have an easy time adapting your approach based on the client's needs and situation.

Since you meet people in vulnerable and sometimes difficult life situations, it is important that you can convey calm, security, and hope even when circumstances are challenging. We also believe that you have a strong belief in people's ability to change. You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sami administrative areas. Language skills in Finnish and Sami, as well as cultural competence in these areas, are therefore meritorious.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Adult Outpatient Care is part of Individual and Family Care within the Social Services in Skellefteå Municipality. At Individual and Family Care, we work to ensure that people get a better life situation. We provide support, protection, and guidance, always with respect for the individual's responsibility and integrity. Here you will meet colleagues who, with courage, care, and collaboration, make a real difference for children, young people, and adults in Skellefteå.

Adult Outpatient Care consists of the short-term housing at Torpvägen and three operations at Stationsgatan 21. At Stationsgatan 21, we have the operations Vile Outpatient Care, Oden Counseling, and Housing First. Currently, we are mainly recruiting staff for Vile and Oden Counseling. At Oden, we work with early and accessible interventions where the relationship with the client is central. We use FIT as a natural support in our work to strengthen the working alliance and follow up on results for both the individual and the organization. At Vile, we work with support and treatment for individuals who need more comprehensive interventions. In addition to conversations, this may involve some practical help and contact with other authorities.

Here you will have the opportunity to develop in your professional role together with engaged colleagues in an organization where we help each other, share experiences, and work towards the same goals.

NICE TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you will answer some selection questions and attach your CV.
