The Culture and Leisure Department is responsible for a vibrant cultural and leisure life in Södertälje Municipality. The department manages libraries, a cultural school, an art hall, youth leisure activities, sports facilities, Torekällberget, and outdoor recreation. The libraries in Södertälje consist of two units: the City Library with the target-group-specific library TIO14, and the Area Libraries, which include branch libraries, district libraries, and a book bus. For us, the libraries are a place for literature and culture and should be an open and safe meeting place for all citizens.
Operations Manager/Librarian for Children and Young People
We are looking for a librarian with operational management responsibility for the City Library's children's and youth activities, which includes the target-group-specific activity TIO14. As an operations manager, you will contribute to developing the library organization and coordinate the children's and youth activities according to assignments and goals, in close collaboration with the Unit Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- participating in meetings for planning and coordination with the Unit Manager and the Operations Manager for the adult section,
- acting as a link between the work group and management,
- leading and developing children's and youth activities together with colleagues,
- coordinating and initiating the distribution of tasks,
- preparing materials for, for example, applications, reports, and governing documents,
- performing common librarian tasks with some evening and weekend shifts according to schedule.

Requirements:
- Education in library and information science or other relevant education that the employer considers equivalent.
- Experience as a librarian with a focus on children and young people, at a public library.
- Good IT skills.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English.

You are part of the City Library unit. Your workplace is at the City Library, located in Lunagallerian, centrally in Södertälje. In total, approximately 45 people work at the libraries, and about half of them work at the City Library. It is an open office landscape.
Weekend and evening shifts occur.
