Do you want to create experiences and contexts where the world comes closer?
At the Museum of World Culture, we work to bring the world's cultures to life – with knowledge, care, and in dialogue. Our four museums in Stockholm and Gothenburg are places where history, the present, and the future meet through collections, stories, and research.
We offer public experiences that spark curiosity and reflection, create engagement with global issues, and provide new perspectives on our shared world. Here, cultural heritage, societal development, and human rights take center stage – alongside the people in our surrounding world.
We believe in working together across borders. Today, we are approximately 150 employees who contribute in various ways to our shared mission.
Do you want to join us?
For our operations in Stockholm, we are now looking for Museum Hosts on a permanent basis, working 16-25%. We are looking for you who have solid experience in customer service, are driven by a strong sense of hospitality, and preferably have an interest in culture in a broad sense.
6 positions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities include actively welcoming our visitors to, and telling them about, our operations at our three Stockholm museums – the Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities, the Museum of Ethnography, the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities – as well as our digital offerings, with enthusiasm and curiosity. As a Museum Host, you circulate in the public areas of the museum, answer visitors' questions on-site, by phone, or digitally, staff the entrance and gift shop, conduct daily public tours, and carry out visitor surveys. Furthermore, you are responsible for the daily supervision of exhibitions and public spaces, and act in alarm and emergency situations. The work also includes preparation, execution, and restoration for venue rental and program activities.
As a Museum Host, you are part of a host team. You have scheduled working hours, which means working mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. You contribute with enthusiasm and ideas and collaborate well with colleagues to best meet all visitors' needs and offer a first-class visitor experience.
