Do you want to be our next librarian? Welcome to Campus Djursholm!

The Viktor Rydberg Schools Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic librarian. The position is permanent and covers 80% of full-time hours, with a start date in August or by agreement. The duties are distributed evenly between the two schools that make up Campus Djursholm: Viktor Rydberg Lower Secondary School and Viktor Rydberg Upper Secondary School. The schools share a common library, and your primary workplace will be at VRS Djursholm, where the library is located.

As a librarian, you work in a service-oriented and outward-facing manner as a pedagogical resource for both students and staff. You actively work with media and information literacy and are a key figure in our reading promotion efforts.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with the foundation's other librarians and interact closely with students, teachers, and school leadership. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Developing and strengthening students' and staff's media and information literacy.
  • Fostering a vibrant relationship with literature for students and supporting their language development pedagogically.
  • Participating in teaching, projects, and collaboration with teacher colleagues to create engagement around library issues.
  • Working both digitally and physically in classrooms and the library, with tasks ranging from presentations for larger groups to individual guidance.
  • Planning operations and administering library systems, databases, platforms, and media.
  • Developing and managing the book collection.

Requirements

  • Relevant university degree in Library and Information Science.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Profile

You are creative, receptive, and communicative. You have a strong ability to structure your work independently and take initiative. It is natural for you to stay updated within your profession, and you thrive in an organization that is constantly evolving. You are well-versed in IT and digital solutions.

Merits

Experience with Welib or other library systems, as well as experience working in a school library, is considered a merit.
