White is one of Scandinavia's leading architecture firms, working with sustainable architecture, design, and urban development in both national and international contexts. Driven by the power of architecture, we aim to lead the transition towards a sustainable society. As an employee-owned company, we value participation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and an open working climate. We are now looking to expand our team of antiquarians with a Participating Antiquarian for our office in Stockholm – a key person who wants to combine cultural heritage expertise with the development of future sustainable built environments.
About the role
As an antiquarian at White, you will play a central role in our cultural heritage projects. You will become part of a competent team with extensive experience in culturally valuable buildings, and cross-office collaboration is common. Your responsibilities will include identifying and describing cultural heritage values in buildings and environments, preparing historical investigations, opinions, impact assessments, and recommendations, as well as participating in design and construction processes where you provide expert advice on design and technical matters. As a Participating Antiquarian, you ensure that planned measures are carried out with respect for cultural heritage values, including historical involvement, contributing to ensuring that projects comply with current legislation and conducting control checks when necessary.
We are looking for someone who
- Has a relevant academic education in cultural heritage management, building archaeology, built environment history, or equivalent.
- Has 1–2 years of work experience within the cultural heritage sector.
- Is meritorious with good knowledge of PBL (Planning and Building Act), KML (Cultural Environment Act), and relevant parts of BBR (Swedish Building Regulations).
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
Personal qualities
We believe you are curious and forward-thinking, capable of finding new approaches. You dare to challenge and question, and you understand the creative process. You communicate clearly both verbally and visually, listen actively, and take in others' opinions, while thriving in team environments. You take responsibility for implementation and results, demonstrate good judgment, and have the ability to prioritize, plan, and organize efficiently. You analyze problems, break them down into manageable parts, and find solutions.
We offer
A creative and open working climate with great opportunities to influence. The chance to work on some of Sweden's most exciting cultural heritage projects. An office where sustainability and cultural heritage meet and strengthen each other, along with ownership and long-term development in an employee-owned organization.
