We are now looking for an archivist to take on the role of Municipal Archivist. Are you an experienced, engaged, and driven archivist who constantly strives for improvement and development? About us
The Information Management Unit is a central function in the municipality that supports all committees, boards, and offices in the municipality's systematic information management work. The unit is organizationally placed under the Department for Citizen Services and Administration, which consists of Väsby Direct, the Information Management Unit, and the Committee Administration Unit. Document controllers and archivists work at the Information Management Unit, led by a unit manager.
About the position
You will belong to the Municipal Archive and take on the role of Municipal Archivist. You will work both strategically and operationally. Your main tasks include investigating, developing, and managing municipality-wide steering documents, conducting preservation and appraisal investigations, and supporting offices in developing and revising committee-specific steering documents in the area, such as handling instructions, archive descriptions, system documentation, and decisions on disposal.
You monitor the external environment and work on the development of the municipality's information management work. You make decisions according to the Municipal Executive Board's delegation list. You conduct training and perform supervision. It may also become relevant for you to be responsible for the management of the archive authority's e-archive (final archive).
Your assignment also includes ensuring that the archive authority's and the municipality's information management work and archive care are conducted in accordance with current legislation and regulations. You coordinate networks for the municipality's information management work. You lead others in certain assignments. As needed, you are responsible for handling requests for public records that have been transferred to the archive authority and conducting confidentiality assessments.
Currently, there is a move to a joint municipal house. Therefore, your assignment also includes leading and supporting offices with the archiving, disposal, and digitization of the committees' physical records in connection with the move. You are also responsible for leading the municipal archive's work in connection with the move of the central archive.
The work is varied and stimulating and involves many contacts with colleagues in the department, case handlers in the offices, IT, project managers for the municipal house project, and citizens.
The position is a permanent employment. A background check will be conducted before employment. The position may be security classified according to the Security Protection Act.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for you who have:
- An academic degree with a focus on archival science of at least 60 credits.
- At least five years of experience as an archivist in the public sector.
- Several years of experience in strategic and development work within information management.
- Experience in drawing up steering documents in the area as well as preservation and appraisal investigations.
- Basic IT skills and good knowledge of the laws and regulations that apply in the public sector.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience or interest in working with e-archives, digital preservation, and digitization processes.
- Experience in leading others.
As a person, you are development- and service-oriented and have good collaboration skills. You are communicative, receptive, and have a structured and well-organized way of working. You have the ability to analyze complex issues within the field of information management and translate your analyses into practically feasible solutions. You have a holistic perspective on information management and understand the importance of legal certainty, information security, and a strong citizen focus.
