The City Archives is looking for an archivist specializing in electronic archives and digital information management. In this role, you will contribute to developing the municipality's work with e-archives, digital preservation, and information governance, while ensuring that digital information is handled in a legally secure, information-secure, and sustainable manner over time.
Here, you will work in a role where archival science, technology, and public benefit meet. You will contribute to structure, quality, and long-term digital preservation – from today's information to tomorrow's archives.
The Assignment
As an archivist specializing in e-archives and digital information management, you will play a key role in developing, managing, and ensuring the quality of Norrtälje Municipality's digital archive and information management. Based at the City Archives, you will work both strategically and operationally with e-archives, digital preservation, appraisal, metadata, information classification, system decommissioning, and digital archive deliveries.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with archival functions, the registry, system administrators, information security, data protection, IT, and the municipality's various departments. You will support these departments in getting it right from the start and contribute to sustainable, legally secure, and information-secure working methods.
Challenges and Opportunities
The role offers a wide variety of tasks and the opportunity to help shape the municipality's future work with digital information management.
Your main responsibilities include:
- developing and coordinating the municipality's work with e-archives and long-term digital preservation
- planning, specifying requirements, and ensuring the quality of digital archive deliveries, as well as supporting departments during system implementations, changes, and decommissioning
- working with metadata, information structure, classification, preservation formats, and other issues within digital information management
- providing support in matters concerning archive legislation, public access and confidentiality, data protection, and information security
- developing routines, guidelines, and training initiatives, as well as providing advice to departments
- participating in the supervision by the archive authority according to the Archive Act and contributing to the development of the municipality's management system for information management and archive cataloging systems
What you need to bring
Requirements
- a university degree in a relevant field, with at least 60 ECTS credits in archival science, or other education in information science, information governance, systems science, or equivalent competence assessed by the employer as equivalent
- experience in archive and information management, preferably from the public sector

Merits
- experience with e-archives, digital archive deliveries, or system requirement specification
- experience with procurement, system implementation, or system changes
- knowledge of information classification, information security, and digital preservation
- experience with extracting and quality-assuring information from operational systems
- experience with project management, process development, or change management

You enjoy switching between strategic issues and practical implementation, from metadata and appraisal to digital preservation and the development of sustainable working methods.
