The Stockholm University Library is one of the country's largest research libraries. The library serves as a natural meeting place on campus and as a hub for information dissemination at Stockholm University. Approximately 33,600 full-time equivalent students, 1,200 active doctoral students, and 5,400 employees work here.
The University Library is structured as a network organization with self-organizing work groups centered around user needs. These work groups form the backbone of the organization. As an employee, you participate in operational development and environmental scanning, taking significant responsibility for both daily operations and strategic work. Do you want to help develop our operations and work operationally within cataloging, acquisitions, and digital user interaction? This might be the position for you! We are now looking for a development-oriented librarian who will work broadly. We are seeking someone who wants to contribute energy, enthusiasm, and competence in these areas. Putting the user at the center is second nature to you.
Responsibilities
The position is broad and includes cataloging, acquisition of media resources, and digital user interaction.
The Cataloging Group performs various types of cataloging work to provide a correct and well-functioning library catalog. The Acquisitions Group purchases media resources based on incoming orders. We operate with a fully user-driven acquisition model. In digital user interaction, you primarily respond to emails and chats with our users.
For this position, you should enjoy driving development and taking overall responsibility, together with your work groups, for improving workflows and routines. Enthusiasm and the ability to motivate both yourself and your colleagues are characteristics that define you.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Degree in Library and Information Science.
- Experience with cataloging work.
- Experience in digital or physical customer service or similar.
Merits:
- Experience in development work or project work.
- Experience in purchasing literature.
As a person, you are communicative, team-oriented, and quick to learn new things. You are structured in your approach to work and are highly development- and solution-oriented. You are meticulous and value providing good service. Working with continuous improvements in an environment where significant responsibility is placed on each employee suits you well. You have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to see the big picture.

About the Position
The position is permanent and full-time, with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date: Autumn 2026.
