The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care, which we carry out in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Runnagården receives women with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We receive women with mental health issues as well as aggressive women with violent behavior. We also receive women undergoing medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting temporary position as a Treatment Assistant at SiS.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you ensure that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our clients, and you handle the basics of daily life such as cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure our clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Working hours are according to schedule: day, evening, night, and weekends.
As a temporary hourly employee at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You must have:
- A minimum 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care.
- A valid B driver's license.
- Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.
Meritorious:
- Experience working with our target group, i.e., substance abuse care.
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Probation Officer.
- Education in care and nursing.

Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

*Exceptions to the requirement of a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
