The Support Unit is part of the Individual and Family Care Department within the Social Administration and is primarily responsible for processing social assistance cases. Currently, the unit employs social secretaries, administrative assistants, housing officers, senior social secretaries, and the unit manager. Together, we are approximately 20 dedicated employees with broad competence and extensive experience in the field. The position is newly established and serves to strengthen the unit's organization.
We offer external supervision, a working week of 38.75 hours, flexible working hours, a wellness allowance, and a wellness hour.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Social Secretary, you will, together with a colleague in a similar role, be responsible for supervising social secretaries and ensuring overall case responsibility within the operations. The role involves coordinating, prioritizing, and distributing the work of the unit, which handles cases according to the Social Services Act.
You are responsible for ensuring that investigation times and documentation requirements are met, as well as guiding employees in complex cases and making legally secure assessments. The role also entails keeping the work group updated regarding current legislation, routines, guidelines, and professional conduct.
Through close and trust-based leadership, you create good conditions for employees to perform their duties with high quality and legal security. You drive and actively participate in the development of the operations and promote collaboration with both internal and external partners.
The Social Services are facing legislative changes that will affect the operations' methods and tasks in the future. In the role of Senior Social Secretary, you will therefore have a central function in translating new legal requirements into practice and contributing to the development of processes, methods, and quality within the operations.
As a Senior Social Secretary, you are part of the unit's management group together with other senior social secretaries and the unit manager.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work. It is meritorious if you have experience in authority exercises and investigative work within social services, as well as previous experience in leadership.
To thrive and succeed in the role, you are communicative, structured, and clear in your leadership. You have good collaboration skills, take responsibility for your tasks, and have a professional and trustworthy approach. You feel confident in leading and supporting employees in daily work and have the ability to drive development and contribute to the continued forward work of the operations.
