The Department of Education, Didactics and Educational Sociology (EDU) at Uppsala University conducts research, doctoral studies, undergraduate education, and continuing education within the fields of pedagogy, didactics, and educational sociology. EDU also offers several master's programmes. The department has approximately 250 employees, including around 175 teachers/researchers, 45 doctoral students, and 30 administrators. Responsibilities: Teaching, administration, and supervision. The position primarily involves teaching within the Subject Teacher Programme and KPU (Courses for Professional Development) with a focus on VFU (Field of Study Practicum) and UVK (University Courses for Teachers) courses (e.g., Learning and Development & Subject Didactics). Teaching on other programmes and courses within the department's areas of operation may also occur. Teaching responsibilities also include course coordination, course administration, and course development. Furthermore, course leadership duties are included, which involve information, course planning, investigation, and evaluation work. Other duties as per the local collective agreement.

Qualifications: Eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer is one who has demonstrated pedagogical competence and has obtained a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence significant in view of the subject content of the appointment and the duties involved. A prerequisite for pedagogical competence to be considered present is the completion of a relevant higher education pedagogy course of at least five weeks' duration, or equivalent knowledge. Since the teaching and course leadership in this position will include practice-oriented elements in UVK and VFU courses, a completed teacher education and professional experience from the teaching profession in upper secondary school or later years of primary school are also required. Documented ability to teach in Swedish and English is a requirement.
