We are looking for a preschool teacher with a specific responsibility for outdoor pedagogy!

Who are we?

Tuppen is a preschool with five departments located in the Nordantill district of Norrköping, in close proximity to several parks, the river, museums, and libraries. Tuppen preschool is a multicultural preschool that is part of one of the unit's four preschools. The children's best interests are always in focus, and our education is characterized by development, joy, engagement, and playfulness.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for developing and conducting teaching with a focus on outdoor pedagogy, where learning is moved out to nature, urban environments, and cultural landscapes to the greatest possible extent.

You organize and lead the activities so that the children can explore their surroundings through natural resources and varied learning environments, with elements such as sustainable development, sensory experiences, species knowledge, play, movement, and creation with unstructured materials.

You ensure that the curriculum permeates the activities through outdoor didactic methods and is visible in the pedagogical documentation. You work actively with systematic quality work and drive development together with colleagues and the principal.

The role also includes mentoring and developing the competence of colleagues in outdoor pedagogy, learning environments, and risky play.

Your working hours will include scheduled shifts where both opening and closing of the preschool may occur.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher with education in outdoor pedagogy, NTA (Nature, Technology, and Environment), or equivalent, assessed as comparable. If you have mentoring education for VFU (Field of Study Practicum), there is an opportunity to mentor students.

You have good pedagogical insight and experience in conducting and developing teaching with a clear focus on outdoor pedagogy and nature-based learning. You have experience with outdoor life and/or nature guiding, and with using natural and urban environments as learning environments to create varied, changeable, and accessible outdoor environments that stimulate play, exploration, and learning.

Furthermore, you have an understanding of child development, including the importance of positive risk-taking, and you have digital competence and an understanding of outdoor didactics and how it can be linked to the curriculum's goals.

As a person, you are dedicated, empathetic, and independent in your role, with a strong interest in developing individuals, learning environments, and outdoor pedagogical approaches together with colleagues. You create engagement and joy in work and have a professional attitude towards children, guardians, and colleagues. You are flexible, proactive, and maintain calm even in stressful situations.

For the role, it is required that you can communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
