Controller for the Economic Support Unit in Umeå

The Economic Support Unit is part of the Regional Executive Board's support teams, providing assistance to management and operations regarding economic and governance matters. We develop and manage economic processes and create the prerequisites for leadership throughout the region to steer their operations. Now you have the opportunity to become a key player in this work – the Economic Support Unit is looking for an engaged and analytical controller based in Umeå.

You will belong to the Controller Support Unit HSF (Health and Medical Care Administration), where you will actively participate in developing controllers' working methods and processes. The workplace is in Umeå, with proximity to both operations and collegial support. Part of the working hours can also be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

As a controller with us, you provide important service and enable initiatives that affect many, while contributing to strengthening and improving the region's economy.

You are part of the Economic Support Unit's Controller Support Unit HSF and, together with colleagues, share a joint responsibility for continuous improvement and development work. In your role as a controller, you contribute an economic perspective by providing management support to operations and managers within the health and medical care sector. You are a central collaboration partner for operations in both strategic and operational matters to secure and develop economic governance. The work includes, among other things, analysis, follow-up, development of key performance indicators, and operational statistics. You are also responsible for driving and ensuring quality in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a candidate of science in economics or have another relevant university or college education focused on economics. You should have good knowledge and experience in economic governance, accounting, as well as follow-up and analysis within economics.

Experience within the public sector is meritorious. To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you are innovative, analytical, and eager to drive development work. You are a driving force and a support for operations and other support functions in their work. The ability to communicate both in writing and verbally, and to pedagogically convey information and messages, is an important part of the role that we value highly.

You have very good knowledge of MS Office programs and experience working with decision support systems. If you also have an interest in digital development and smarter working methods, it is a big plus.
