Do you want to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of businesses in Sweden and the EU? Are you an analytical and driven person who wants to work in a development-oriented environment where policy, analysis, and implementation meet? Then this could be the role for you.
At Tillväxtverket (the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth), we work for competitive businesses and sustainable development in all parts of Sweden. We offer knowledge, networks, and investment opportunities. This provides direct benefits to businesses, as well as prerequisites for businesses, municipalities, and regions to meet future challenges. Tillväxtverket is a national authority with a regional presence in nine locations.
The Capital Supply Unit develops knowledge about and works with capital supply issues. The unit also drives initiatives to promote the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is responsible for the authority's programs and initiatives within green transition and innovation. We participate in the implementation of the EU's Regional Fund with a focus on financing opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises in Sweden. We finance both regional and national venture capital funds, all aimed at increasing access to financing where the market otherwise falls short. We analyze market needs and propose initiatives that promote sustainable development throughout the country.
About the position
The work as a Policy Analyst covers issues related to the development of business and industry, including conditions for innovation, transition, and capital supply. The role also involves contributing to the design and implementation of initiatives in both internal and external contexts where the unit participates, both nationally and within the EU.
You will work both independently and in teams to analyze, develop, and drive national and EU policy, as well as policy changes in areas relevant to business competitiveness. The tasks, which may cover a broad spectrum of policy areas and are characterized by great variation, have a focus on the capital supply area. The work includes contributing to the assessment of alternative solutions, gathering experiences from other countries, and making trade-offs between different courses of action. As a Policy Analyst, you will participate in and/or lead assignment teams, assess and process projects, and respond to official inquiries. Other tasks within the unit's area of responsibility may also be relevant.
Your place of work will be: Arjeplog, Östersund, Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Malmö.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university or college education equivalent to at least three years of study
- Work experience in policy-related work at the national level in Sweden or at the EU level
- Experience working independently and in a development-oriented manner
- Experience in analyzing and drawing conclusions in a work context, and adapting them to the implementation of assignments
- Ability to familiarize yourself with different regulatory frameworks to carry out assignments
- Experience writing various types of knowledge materials
- Ability to handle digital tools and work in digital environments
- Good communication skills in speech and writing in Swedish and English
The following are meritorious:
- Work experience in policy areas relevant to industrial policy and industry competitiveness
- Work experience from the Swedish Government Offices
- Work experience from EU institutions
- Work experience from politically governed organizations
- Work experience within capital supply
- Knowledge of business promotion organizations
- Experience with project processing and/or project development
- Previous roles requiring planning, implementation, reporting, and follow-up of assignments and initiatives
- Experience in pedagogically explaining and presenting analyses, knowledge reports, and proposals
As a person, we are looking for you who are analytical and communicative. You understand that the best results are achieved through close collaboration with others. You are service-oriented and understand the value of involvement in both internal and external contexts. You are result-oriented and can independently structure and plan your work.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
