Welcome to Kungsgärdet Health Centre – Seeking a Registered Health and Social Care Counselor

Our 1,800 employees work with primary care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centres or within habilitation services, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we tailor our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

Welcome to us at Kungsgärdet Health Centre!

We are looking for you who are a registered health and social care counselor wishing to work at our health centre. We offer you a fixed-term position on a full-time basis between 1/9/2026 and 31/8/2027, with a possible extension.

Region Uppsala and Primary Care and Health offer benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).

Your Role

Here, you will be part of a mental health team consisting of another counselor and three psychologists. Your area of work will be psychosocial ill health that does not require the resources of specialist psychiatry.

As a counselor, you work independently with patients aged 18 and above. The role involves providing support conversations, counseling, and advice to strengthen patients' resources to cope with and manage their life situations, for example, during crisis and grief processing, and stress and burnout reactions.

Counseling can take place individually, in groups, or via internet and video calls.

You will also work with individual psychosocial mapping and assessment, supporting the patient in navigating various social support resources. Writing certificates and referrals, and collaborating with other healthcare providers and authorities based on the current patient's needs are also part of the duties.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered counselor with experience in psychosocial work. Experience from health centre work is advantageous. The role requires good teamwork skills, enjoyment and experience of working in a team, as well as the ability to work independently.

As a person, you are clear in your communication, structured in your approach, and have good initiative. You have pedagogical skills and can easily build rapport with both patients and colleagues. You enjoy developing operations and collaboration methods, both within and between health centres and with our care partners.

Our Operations

Kungsgärdet Health Centre belongs to the Primary Care and Health administration in Region Uppsala and is centrally located in Uppsala. We have approximately 11,000 registered patients and around 50 employees. We offer most services within primary care, and at the health centre, everyone works to provide our patients with the best possible care. Our patients range from young families and students to elderly citizens. This makes the work with us both varied and stimulating.

Want to know more?

For more information about the work and operations, you are warmly welcome to contact Group Manager Lena A Larsson, email [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) or tel. 070-610 18 61.

Union representatives can be reached via the switchboard: 018-611 00 00.

Application

Please submit your application via the link below. Attach your CV, a copy of your educational certificate, and other relevant attachments that verify your competence and experience. Please send in your application today, as interviews may be conducted continuously during the application period. We require your application no later than June 14.

Region Uppsala values the qualities that an equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different birth backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.

Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime, but is solely a planning measure.

Before making a decision on employment, a check of the suspicion and criminal records will be conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or involuntary care of addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the duties currently are not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's efforts, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
