Welcome to the small, strength-based municipality with great opportunities!

Here you have the chance to contribute with socially important services, for those we are here for, together with your colleagues. We start from health-promoting factors and have a strength-based approach that focuses on the strengths of individuals and the organization. This is also what we communicate and give feedback on. You are given sustainable working conditions, prerequisites to grow and contribute to collegial learning. We are guided by development potential, pride, and humanity, and we expect you to do the same.

About the operations

We are looking for three full-time employees (100%) for a newly established children's and youth residence in Hyltebruk. The operation is a children's and youth residence according to the LSS Act (housing with special service for children and young people, LSS Section 9, Paragraph 8) and is aimed at children and young people with disabilities who, despite other support measures, cannot continue to live at home. The residence is unique in its kind as it is currently adapted for only one youth, unlike traditional group homes where several people live together. The youth lives in their own apartment with staff available based on need.

Working hours are scheduled for afternoons and awake nights on weekdays, and around the clock on weekends. A short-term goal with the intervention is to prepare and enable the youth to start adapted upper secondary school in the autumn. The long-term goal is to create sustainable prerequisites for the youth to complete their adapted upper secondary education based on their own conditions. Working hours are therefore adjusted to times when the youth does not have school. For extra security, staff from a nearby service residence are available around the clock for support and guidance if needed.

Job Responsibilities

As a support assistant or support educator, your task is to offer the youth security, continuity, and professional support adapted to the individual's unique needs and conditions. You support and motivate the youth in everyday life to create opportunities for increased independence and participation. The tasks include, among other things, support in certain activities of daily living (ADL), daily household chores, and accompaniment to and from leisure activities, healthcare visits, and other important contexts.

The role requires that you have knowledge of disabilities and a good understanding of how environment, interaction, and structure affect the youth's everyday life. You work with low-affective interaction and clarifying pedagogy and are expected to be receptive, attentive, and flexible, as the tasks are not always predictable in detail. An important part of the assignment is to actively participate in leisure activities based on the youth's needs, which presupposes that you have good basic fitness and enjoy active work.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be a secure, responsible, and engaged person who sees the relationship and interaction as central parts of the work. You have a professional approach and the ability to adapt your support based on the individual's daily condition and needs. As long as you meet the basic requirements for the position, we will place great emphasis on your personal suitability as we primarily seek the right person for the right place.

Requirements for the position:

  • Relevant upper secondary education, for example within care and assistance or children and leisure
  • Knowledge of and experience with low-affective interaction
  • Knowledge of clarifying pedagogy
  • Knowledge of disabilities and understanding of how environment and surroundings affect the individual
  • Good physical ability to participate in daily activities and leisure activities
  • It is highly meritorious with a vocational higher education (KY/YH) as a support educator

Other information

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period. In this recruitment process, you apply with your CV only. We apply competency-based recruitment supported by work samples as a selection method to ensure a fair and accurate recruitment process.

If you become relevant for the position, you need to show a police record extract from the police (category: control of own information). The extract must be handed to the recruiting unit manager in an unopened envelope.
