Job Description
As a support assistant, you work to support the resident in their daily life by creating a comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful existence, as well as by working preventively and systematically. You provide professional support and strengthen each individual's self-esteem and belief in their own abilities – all work is based on the resident's individually created implementation plan.
You are involved in establishing and/or maintaining social networks. Your role also involves supporting residents in developing their communication skills and sense of belonging, as well as providing support in social activities, both individually and in groups. The goal is to support full participation in society based on each person's individual wishes.
You provide support in all common daily tasks such as planning, personal hygiene, clothing care, laundry, cleaning, diet, cooking, shopping, finances, medication, social training, culture, and leisure.
You belong to a work group with support assistants and support pedagogues. You work with social documentation in the documentation system Treserva and continuously follow up and revise the implementation plans. We work with operation-adapted and adjustable schedules. The need is continuously adapted to the operation's needs, which means you need to be prepared to work during the day, evening, and weekends.
We value your ideas and commitment, and together we create conditions for development and an independent life for our residents.
Does this sound like something for you? Apply today and become part of our fantastic team!
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Have education as a support assistant, assistant nurse, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
- Have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and autism in housing with special support.
- Have experience with challenging behavior.
- Have knowledge of low-arousal approaches, clear pedagogy, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
- Have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
It is an advantage if you have a B-driver's license and experience working with Timecare and Treserva.
As a support assistant, you show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You have an open and positive attitude as you have the resident's needs as the starting point for your actions. You have interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and you strive to present solutions. In your work, it is important that you act independently based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. It is also important that you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You understand the common mission, act based on it, and contribute to the whole.
