Adult Education in Karlskrona

Adult Education in Karlskrona Municipality is part of the Employment Administration. We have approximately 2,500 students each year across our courses, subjects, and vocational training programs within Lärvux (Adult Education for Work), Swedish for Immigrants, and basic and upper secondary adult education.

We have a key societal role in providing residents with better prerequisites for employment or higher studies, and in ensuring that the labor market has access to the workforce it needs. We focus heavily on individual learning and the various prerequisites individuals have to succeed in their studies.

We are now seeking a Study and Career Counselor for an exciting and varied position within the various forms of adult education. This is a permanent position (100%). You will work in a team with four other study and career counselors.

Responsibilities

As a Study and Career Counselor at Adult Education, your role is to provide municipal residents and existing students with the right prerequisites to make informed and well-founded choices to achieve their future goals. Here, you have the opportunity to make a difference by guiding individuals towards education, work, and the next steps in life, while contributing to strengthening Karlskrona's competence supply and attractiveness.

The position includes standard tasks within study and career counseling, such as:

• Counseling sessions
• Information efforts for both individuals and groups
• Proactive outreach activities
• Environmental scanning
• Collaboration with various actors within schools and working life
• Administrative tasks, such as processing applications and admission work

Common questions handled include study planning, eligibility for studies and professions, grades, CSN (Student Aid) regulations, and validation of previous education and work experience.

Qualifications

The position requires a degree as a Study and Career Counselor.
