What will you be working on?
The work is based on the Agency's mandate within the ANDTS field (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco and nicotine products, and gambling). The work is conducted based on steering documents such as instructions and relevant government assignments, with the aim of contributing to good and equitable health.
Responsibilities include among other things:
- Compiling and reporting on the drug situation in Sweden as well as the preventive work within the ANDTS field.
- Participating in the work to coordinate the Agency's reporting on narcotics and conducting surveys and analyses within the ANDTS field.
- Producing and developing target-group adapted materials, for example in the form of reports, fact sheets, and web texts.
- Presenting acquired knowledge at conferences and meetings, both in Swedish and English.
- Contributing to unit-wide and agency-wide assignments such as government assignments, consultations, internal and external networks, and environmental scanning.
- In addition, other usual tasks for investigators at the Agency are included.
Travel is involved in the position.
Who are we looking for?
Requirements for the position:
- A Master's degree or equivalent in a field relevant to the work area, such as public health, social sciences, medicine, or natural sciences.

Great emphasis is placed on:
- Experience in independently collecting, processing, interpreting, and compiling data or other scientific literature from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives.
- Personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, responsibility, and structured work methodology. You have a holistic perspective and good interpersonal skills.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
Considerable emphasis is placed on:
- Experience in communicating and writing target-group adapted texts within the ANDTS field, for example on the web or in report form, as well as conducting presentations and webinars.
- Experience in investigative work within public operations and within organizations with knowledge-supporting assignments, related to public health.
Emphasis is placed on:
- Experience in collaborating with national and international authorities and organizations.
- Experience working in a field relevant to the unit, such as alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco, gambling, or mental health.
What does the unit do?
The ANDTS Prevention Unit works for the development and dissemination of knowledge in the ANDTS field (alcohol, narcotics, doping, tobacco and nicotine products, and gambling).
We do this, among other things, by compiling, analyzing, and spreading knowledge about the use and harm of ANDTS, and about how effective preventive work can be conducted.
We work for national coordination in the ANDTS field. The purpose of the coordination is, among other things, to support the implementation of ANDTS policy, and to contribute to dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of experience between actors whose activities are significant in reducing the use and harm of ANDTS.
The unit produces materials and reports to the EU, UN, WHO, and other international bodies, and serves as the contact point for the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) regarding narcotics, specifically the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) context often referred to in EU frameworks.
Our main target groups are county administrative boards and municipalities, but also regions, authorities, and civil society.

About the employment
You will be employed as an investigator with placement at our office in Solna or Östersund. The employment is a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible according to agreement.
As an employee of the Public Health Agency, you may be assigned to wartime duties. Some positions are security-classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. A security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
At the Agency, there may be an opportunity to agree on remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
