Our core market is Sweden, but we are growing in the Nordic region. We are ISO-certified for Quality, Working Environment & Environment.

Are you our next star and do you want to become part of our team of driven and engaged employees? We are now looking for a Business Controller in a broad role that, in addition to the financial core of the position, also involves Purchasing (price analysis, margins, etc.) and IT/System/AI (exactly what depends on the person).

You need to have strong analytical skills, not just for numbers but also for streamlining ongoing tasks, both within finance and related areas. A high basic understanding of accounting is required as all transactions, from purchasing to sales, must be classified correctly and posted to the right account.

It is a great advantage if you have a strong interest in IT systems and development. A central part of streamlining finance and administration is strong system support for e.g., Purchasing, Finance, Budget & Forecast, BI tools, and HRM, where tasks have already been replaced by digital platforms and AI support.

We have a small overhead, so you need to be comfortable working independently without daily supervision of your tasks. The OH (Overhead) functions work in close collaboration with the operational business, which mainly handles customer invoicing, purchasing for customers, and operational operations as well as approving purchases. More than 80% of these are matched automatically.

Your role is to support the companies from a modern finance function perspective, which includes, among other things, analysis and monthly closing. It is important that you can communicate and express yourself in phone/Teams/email in both Swedish and English, both internally and externally, without issues.

What does a Business Controller do at Lexium?

The position is newly created in the group's holding company.

Some financial and purchasing matters are handled via the CRM system, others are managed by the Business Controller. Profit monitoring and analysis of results per month are done in various dimensions, as well as reconciliation of the Balance Sheet/Income Statement for the monthly closing. This is followed by a report of financial and operational results every month.

You will be involved in purchasing analyses of services & products to optimize profitability and in the development of ERP, purchasing, and BI systems. You may also be involved in acquisition analysis within M&A (if time & interest allow).

The role suits you if you want a varied workday and enjoy an independent role with personal responsibility. You report directly to the Group CEO (also CFO) and the CEOs of the operational subsidiaries.

Who are you?

We preferably see that you have a few years of experience.

Structured and meticulous: Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks, be meticulous in what is done (before fast & wrong), follow up continuously, and complete tasks within specified timelines.

Interest in IT and systems: As the BC will work with digital tools.

Business-minded: Interest in learning the business operations, contributing to efficiency, understanding the basics of accounting, explaining monitoring/analysis internally, and supporting profitability in customer assignments.

Social: Ability to create new and develop existing relationships, adapt to new contexts with different people and personalities, and communicate – both internally and externally.

Flexible: Ability to adapt to new and changed situations, understand that change is a large part of a company's operations that affects internally and is something you need to embrace/accept, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and be able/willing to take responsibility outside your own area of responsibility/work.

Engaged: Driven, positive attitude, takes responsibility, solves tasks beyond expectations/outside your own area of responsibility, "rolls up sleeves" if needed, and is a team player (team before me).

What competencies and/or experiences are we looking for?

  • Master's degree in Economics is a requirement. Master in Finance/Accounting/Business Management is an advantage.
  • High personal drive (a skill that, when used correctly, becomes a competence).
  • Experience in practical work with and understanding of numbers (and their connections).
  • Experience with analysis and monthly closing in medium-sized companies.
  • Practical understanding of the numbers – derived from invoicing, handling/approving supplier invoices, etc. Practical experience in having worked with these tasks greatly facilitates the role.
  • Very good IT skills/understanding; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), BI, and modern business systems. We have a very high degree of digitalization of tasks; paper is practically non-existent.
  • Fluent Swedish and English, both languages in speech and writing (Finnish is a plus).
  • Contribute to a high level of service internally and externally and adhere to set deadlines.
  • Accustomed to working independently and in a group.
  • Experience from the service sector is an advantage, and experience in case/order handling is a plus.

What do we offer?

  • A broad role with finance as a base provides a varied workweek.
  • Great flexibility in organizing your work, with close managerial support.
  • A flat organization – short decision-making paths – great opportunity for engagement and influence.
  • Opportunity for hybrid work (individual assessment). As a main rule, we have 40/60 (remote/office).
  • We are a growth company with development opportunities and career paths.

Working hours/duration:

Full-time or part-time (minimum 80%). The position starts with a probation period of 6 months. Start date according to agreement.

Salary/benefits:

  • Individual salary setting.
  • Pension according to collective agreement.
  • Wellness allowance according to policy (currently 3,000 SEK/year).

We look forward to hearing from you with a personal introduction of yourself and a formal application.

Open to all
We focus on your competence, not your other prerequisites. We are open to adapting the role or workplace to your needs.
