Description of the research group
The Clinical Memory Research group at the Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö conducts leading research on biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, such as Lewy body dementia and Parkinson's disease. The research, which has received international recognition through the BioFINDER projects, has for several years been at the forefront in the field of fluid-based biomarkers and brain imaging, enabling early and accurate detection, diagnosis, and prognosis of the disease.
The group is led by Associate Professor Sebastian Palmqvist and Associate Professor Niklas Mattsson-Carlgren and consists of research, technical, and administrative staff. The workplace is located at the Biomedical Center (BMC) in Lund.
We collaborate closely with the Memory Clinic at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, where several of our researchers also work clinically. You can read more about our exciting research here (#).

Tasks and responsibilities
As a project assistant, the tasks may include statistical data processing and analysis, as well as support in the work of producing scientific publications. Other tasks within the research group may also occur.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for the position:
- A degree at an advanced level (master's or equivalent) or corresponding 240 credits within engineering, molecular biology, neuroscience, mathematics, biology, medicine, biomedicine, psychology, or another similar field.
- Basic knowledge of statistical programming with Python, R, MATLAB, or another programming language.
- Good skills in oral and written communication in English.
- Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. The person we are looking for has good communication, presentation, and writing skills, good teamwork abilities, and the ability to work independently, as well as good analytical and initiative-taking skills.
Qualifications that are meritorious for the position include:
- Specific interest in Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases or aging.
- Experience in data analysis and mathematical modeling applied to medical data.
Other information
The employment is a fixed-term appointment (SÄVA) for 12 months with a tentative start date of August 24, 2026, or as agreed. Full-time (100%).
