About Östervångsskolan
All students have the right to a school that gives them the opportunity to develop based on their own prerequisites. SPSM runs schools on behalf of the state. We offer students a learning environment that gives them the opportunity for participation, learning, and development. We offer meaningful, stimulating, and important pedagogical work at our schools.
Östervångsskolan is a school in Lund for students who are deaf or have hearing impairments. We have bilingual education in a sign language environment for students from preschool class through grade 10, and we use Swedish Sign Language as the language of the school. We have after-school activities and residential services for students who have a long commute to and from school. The school shares facilities with a municipal primary school, Tunaskolan, and there is a well-functioning cooperation between the schools.
The Position
We are now looking for a substitute for our psychologist for the next three terms. As a psychologist at Östervångsskolan, you will be part of the school's student health team, led by the principal and deputy principal. The team includes a school nurse, speech therapist, special education teachers, school counselor, and psychologist, and we are all looking forward to a new colleague during this time!

Responsibilities
You will work as a psychologist in a sign language environment where our communication language is sign language. In part, teaching takes place in spoken Swedish. You will be part of the school's student health team, which includes school leadership, a school nurse, counselor, special education teacher, speech therapist, and school counselor. You will work with consultation, assessment, supervision, and work closely with the school's principal, teachers, other staff, students, and parents.
If you do not master Swedish Sign Language, an interpreter will be available while you learn the language.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is a licensed psychologist
- has experience working in schools with children of various ages
- has experience collaborating with other actors, such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) and habilitation services
The work requires that you:
- have knowledge and interest in meeting children and young people who are deaf or have a hearing impairment and communicate using Swedish Sign Language or speech
- master the common psychological testing methods used for children and young people aged 0–20
- have good and proven knowledge and experience in assessment, supervision, and consultation
- have the ability to link assessment results to the school's daily life
- have experience meeting other cultures
- have good ability to work in teams and individually, as well as to develop new contacts
- can communicate in Swedish Sign Language or are willing to learn it
- have good general IT skills
It is an advantage if you can communicate in Swedish Sign Language.

You drive your work independently and according to the assignment you have. You take responsibility, find solutions, and contribute to the school's development. You have a positive attitude and the desire to be part of our team.
Employment Terms
Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Substitute position at 50% during three terms.
An extract from the criminal record must be presented prior to employment.
