The Family Court is part of the Individual and Family Care (IFO) within the Social Services Administration. All staff within IFO are trained in Signs of Safety. This means we work to ensure that children, families, and networks are involved in how problems can be solved. We believe in the individual's own opportunities and conditions to take control of their continued life. Through the Signs of Safety approach and various tools, we can create better conditions for sustainable solutions for those we meet.
At present, the Family Court consists of five family court secretaries, one senior family court secretary, an assistant, and a unit manager, who is also the manager of the foster care operations at IFO. As our senior family court secretary moves on to other work, we are now looking for a new team leader for the family court group.
We offer external supervision, a working time of 38.75 hours/week, flexible working hours, as well as a wellness allowance and wellness hour.
Your Responsibilities
The Family Court primarily meets with separated parents who have difficulty reaching agreement on matters concerning their children. An important task is to offer cooperation talks for these parents to find consensus solutions that benefit the children, if possible.
On behalf of the District Court, we handle statements and investigations regarding children whose parents have turned to the court with requests for changes in custody, residence, or access. These parents must also have participated in information talks at the Family Court before they can file a lawsuit in court, in order to investigate the possibility of offering other interventions or alternative solutions than a court process. The Family Court also handles matters concerning agreements, paternity, and consent to adoption.
As a team leader, you lead and distribute the work in the operation. You are responsible for ensuring that investigation times and documentation requirements are met. You guide your employees in complex cases and are responsible for updating the work group on current guidelines, approaches, and legal provisions. You are responsible for development work and collaboration with other actors in the group's field, as well as the continued implementation of Signs of Safety. Together with the unit manager, you are tasked with creating conditions for quality, stability, and development of the operations. The position also includes own case handling as it is a shared position with both team leadership and case handling/investigation.
As a team leader at the unit for foster care and family law, it is a requirement to lead according to the principles and approach of Signs of Safety.
Who are you?
You have a degree in social work or education that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience from investigation and authority work within children and young people or family law. A category B driver's license is required for the position.
It is meritorious if you have experience working in all areas of family law and knowledge of current legislation. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience in team leadership and have completed basic training in and worked with Signs of Safety.
It is important that you have good cooperation skills, a natural skill in guiding and leading teams, and a humble attitude towards those we meet. You have the ability to put the child at the center and have good knowledge of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and children's rights. You should be easy to express yourself in writing and enjoy working both in teams and individually.
You are secure in your professional role and have as much knowledge in your backbone to lean on as curiosity and drive to learn new things. You are easy to take responsibility but also to inspire others to take charge.
